Schwartz, Maurice
(1860-1960)
   American Yiddish actor. He was born in the Ukraine, and went to the US in 1901. In 1918 he launched the Jewish Art Theatre in New York. He subsequently acted throughout the Yiddish-speaking diaspora. In 1960 he went to Israel to establish a Yiddish art centre.
